softboiled studios

terms and conditions

These terms apply to bookings and use of softboiled studios.

Effective 17 October 2026

  1. Bookings and Payment

All bookings are subject to availability and must be made through the Studio's designated booking process. A booking is confirmed only after the required payment has been received and confirmation has been issued. Customers are responsible for ensuring their booking details are accurate. All booking fees must be paid in full before the booking begins. Discount codes are subject to their stated terms, validity periods and redemption limits.

  2. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Refunds

All bookings are non-refundable, including customer cancellations, failure to attend, late arrival or early departure.

Customers who wish to cancel or request rescheduling must contact the Studio via WhatsApp. Rescheduling requests must be submitted at least 24 hours before the session start time. Requests are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.

If the Studio is unable to honour a confirmed booking, it will notify the affected customer and arrange an appropriate remedy, such as rescheduling or a refund, as required by the circumstances.

  3. Access and Booking Times

Customers may enter using the access instructions provided for their confirmed booking. Access codes and entry credentials must be kept confidential and must not be shared with unauthorised persons.

Customers may use the Studio only during their confirmed booking period, subject to any additional access time expressly permitted by the Studio.

A grace period of up to 5 minutes before and after a booking may be permitted at the Studio's discretion, provided there are no immediately preceding or following bookings that would conflict with the additional time. The grace period is not guaranteed.

Customers must begin wrapping up and clearing the Studio before the end of their confirmed booking period. Any unauthorised overstay beyond the permitted access period will incur a charge of S$10 per 15 minutes (or part thereof), in addition to the standard booking rate, regardless of whether a subsequent booking is scheduled. Customers must return equipment to its designated position and leave the premises clean and orderly.

  4. Studio Rules and Conduct

    • Eating, open cups, and sugary or alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited. Plain water in securely sealed bottles or spill-proof flasks is permitted, provided it is kept away from electrical installations, amplifiers, and audio equipment at all times.
    • Smoking and vaping are prohibited.
    • Theft, vandalism and deliberate misuse of equipment are prohibited.
    • Harassment, threats, violence and unlawful activity are prohibited.
    • Customers must not tamper with electrical systems, access controls, safety equipment or fixed installations.
    • Customers must comply with applicable building rules, safety instructions and reasonable directions from the Studio.
    • Maximum occupancy is 8 people at any one time unless expressly authorised by the Studio.
    • The Studio may require customers to stop an activity or leave if they breach these Terms, create a safety risk or engage in inappropriate conduct, subject to applicable law.
  5. Equipment Use and Damage

Customers must handle all instruments, audio equipment, furniture, fittings, and other Studio property with reasonable care.

Customers must not misuse, mishandle, dismantle, or tamper with equipment. Defects, malfunctions, accidental damage, and safety concerns must be reported promptly.

Where Studio property or equipment suffers loss or damage arising from a customer's negligent handling, misuse, or failure to exercise reasonable care:

Insured Claims: Where the loss or damage is accepted and indemnified under the Studio's insurance policy, the customer shall be liable to pay the policy excess (deductible) of up to S$250 per incident.

Uninsured or Excluded Claims: Where the loss, repair, or replacement is not covered by insurance (including, without limitation, where damage falls below the insurance excess, arises from intentional acts or gross misconduct, or is denied by the insurer), the customer shall be liable for the full reasonable cost of repair, replacement, and any directly related administrative or remediation expenses.

Any assessment of charges will be reasonably determined based on actual repair quotes, replacement value, and applicable law. Customers are not liable for pre-existing defects or fair wear and tear.

  6. Cleanliness and Cleaning Fees

Customers must leave the Studio clean and orderly, return equipment to its designated position and dispose of rubbish appropriately.

A cleaning fee of up to S$20 may be imposed at the Studio's discretion if a customer leaves the premises excessively dirty, creates a mess requiring additional cleaning - including but not limited to leaving the equipment in disarray - or fails to leave the Studio reasonably clean.

Any fee must be reasonable in light of the condition of the premises and the additional cleaning required.

  7. Personal Belongings and Customer Equipment

Customers are responsible for their personal belongings, instruments and equipment brought into the Studio. They should secure their belongings and promptly notify the Studio of lost, damaged or missing items.

The Studio does not automatically assume responsibility for customer-owned property. Any liability depends on the circumstances and applicable law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Permission must be obtained before leaving belongings or equipment at the Studio outside the booking period.

  8. Safety and Emergencies

Customers must use the Studio and equipment safely and responsibly. They must not obstruct exits, tamper with fire-safety equipment, overload electrical sockets or create avoidable hazards.

Accidents, injuries, equipment hazards and damage to the premises must be reported as soon as reasonably practicable. In an emergency, customers should leave the premises when necessary and contact the relevant emergency services.

  9. Recordings and Intellectual Property

Customers retain ownership of original music and other intellectual property they create, subject to the rights of other contributors and applicable law.

Customers must obtain necessary permissions for music, recordings, samples and other material they use or reproduce. They must obtain permission before recording or photographing other individuals in the Studio.

The Studio's name, logo and branding must not be used to imply endorsement or official affiliation without prior written permission. Appropriate consent must be obtained before identifiable customer images, videos or testimonials are used for promotional purposes.

  10. Liability and Insurance

Customers are responsible for their conduct and must take reasonable care of themselves, others and property.

The Studio will not be responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from bookings or use of its facilities.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

Any Studio insurance is subject to the relevant policy's terms, conditions, exclusions and limits. These Terms do not guarantee that a particular incident, item of equipment or loss will be insured.

  11. Privacy

The Studio may collect and use personal information, including names, contact details and booking records, to process bookings and payments, provide access instructions, communicate with customers, manage the premises and handle enquiries or incidents.

CCTV surveillance operates on the premises for safety, dispute resolution and security purposes. CCTV footage will be handled in accordance with applicable Singapore data protection laws, including the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Studio's privacy notice and applicable Singapore data protection laws.

  12. Circumstances Beyond the Studio's Control

If circumstances beyond the Studio's reasonable control, such as emergencies, building closures or power failures, materially affect a confirmed booking, the Studio will notify affected customers and consider appropriate arrangements, including rescheduling or refunds.

  13. Changes to These Terms

The Studio may update these Terms from time to time. The current version will be published on its website. Changes apply prospectively from the stated effective date, subject to applicable law and rights arising from existing confirmed bookings.

  14. Governing Law and Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, subject to applicable law.

For booking enquiries, cancellations, rescheduling requests or questions about these Terms, customers may contact the Studio via its official WhatsApp contact or other official contact channels.
